Since opening its doors in 2002, the Chesapeake Energy Arena (formerly the Oklahoma City Arena) has become one of the top venues in Oklahoma City and hosts some of today’s hottest events ranging from concert tours, sports to special events.The Chesapeake Energy Arena has become a popular venue for housing some of the nation’s premier sports teams. The Chesapeake Energy Arena is currently home to the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder (formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics). Arena football’s Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz, the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets and the CHL’s Oklahoma City Blazers are some of the other professional sports teams that have played under the Chesapeake Energy Arena’s roof.
